Token migration

Moving from another payment provider to Javelin payments.

When moving from another payment provider, Javelin payments recommends completing the following steps to ensure a smooth transition.

Step 1. Complete your test integration.

Step 2. Live deployment.

Once your tests are complete, start planning the live deployment to your online store in consultation with the Javelin Product team.

• Once live, all your new customers will pay and save card tokens via Javelin payments.

• Any existing customers will continue to pay via your previous payment provider without interruption.

• Only when your card tokens have been migrated via Javelin payments will your existing customers start paying via your Javelin integration.

This process ensures a smooth transition from your existing payments provider.

Step 3. Contact your payments provider.

You may contact your payments provider earlier in the process, however at this point you will be asking them to initiate the token migration. Below is an email template that you can use to contact your payment provider to request the token files.

From > Must be the owner of the account, or cc the owner’s email address in the thread.

Subject: Token migration for {your company name} account

Body: Hi there,

We would like to migrate our customers to another provider, could you please supply the following details?

1. We require the following file to be PGP encrypted with the key attached (10MB max file(s)). Adyen support will share the PGP key with you once ready.

2. If you can then either send the file(s) to our SFTP, or we can collect from your STFP.

3. Full PAN

4. Expiry Date

5. ShopperReference

6. Other optional fields can also be sent and we can import those, i.e. billing address info, echoData (data we return in the export as is), cardholder (owner name), email address etc.

Step 4. Start processing all payments via Javelin.

Once the Javelin team and our Adyen payment partners have received your file, we will switch your existing customers, as per your explicit instruction, over to Javelin. This means that once your migration is complete, you will be enjoying the benefits of Javelin payments on all your future transactions.
