¶ Obtaining your API keys
Your API keys are available in the Javelin Dashboard where you can generate your API keys.
Use only your test API keys for testing and development.
This ensures that you don't accidentally modify your live customers or charges.
If you don’t have a developer role, you may not have access to view your API keys in the Dashboard. Contact Javelin support to request developer access.
¶ Test and live modes
The test and live modes function almost identically, with a few necessary differences:
- In test mode, payments are not processed by card networks or payment providers, and only our test cards can be used.
¶ How to generate your API Key
Step 1. Sign into your Customer Area.
Step 2. Select API Keys from the left navigation.
Step 3. Click to 'Create API Key'
Step 4. Copy this API Key to integrate with your online store.
¶ Authenticate using the API Keys
Once the api key is generated, you can authenticate use it to authenticate on the API requests. You should provide your api key in the x-api-key header.
